Terms of Service | DollarAMP for YNAB

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DollarAMP mobile application for iPhone and iPad ("App") and the website located at dollaramp.com ("Website"), collectively referred to as the "Services," provided by Allen Media Projects ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

Relationship to YNAB

DollarAMP is a companion app for YNAB subscribers. It reads the plan you keep in YNAB, with your authorization, and projects it forward. We are not affiliated, associated, or in any way officially connected with YNAB or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. Using the App requires your own active YNAB subscription, which is priced and sold by YNAB and is not included in your DollarAMP subscription. We are not responsible for YNAB's service, its availability, its pricing, or any change it makes to its API.

Trademarks and non-affiliation

We are not affiliated, associated, or in any way officially connected with YNAB or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. The official YNAB website can be found at https://www.ynab.com.

The names YNAB and You Need A Budget, as well as related names, tradenames, marks, trademarks, emblems, and images are registered trademarks of YNAB.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

Connecting Your YNAB Account

To use the App you connect your YNAB account through YNAB's own authorization screen. You agree to:

Connect only a YNAB account you are entitled to use
Keep your device and your YNAB account credentials secure
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Accept responsibility for changes made to your plan through the App

You may disconnect at any time from inside the App, which deletes what we hold. Because YNAB does not let an application revoke its own authorization, removing DollarAMP in your YNAB account settings is the step that ends our access at the source.

Subscription and Payments

Pricing

DollarAMP offers the following subscription options:

Monthly: $0.99 per month
Annual: $9.99 per year

Prices are in US Dollars and are subject to change with reasonable notice. Subscriptions are purchased and billed through your Apple account and are managed there, including cancellation. These prices do not include a YNAB subscription, which is required and is sold separately by YNAB.

Free Trial

New subscribers get a two-week free trial. Your subscription begins — and your Apple account is charged — automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Trials are limited to one per Apple account.

Billing

Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store and billed to your Apple account. We never receive or store your payment card details. Apple's own terms govern the transaction, and we receive only an anonymous subscription identifier and its status.

Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel at any time in your Apple account subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy; we cannot issue them directly.

How the App Uses Your YNAB Data

The App reads your plan, accounts, categories, scheduled transactions and transactions from YNAB in order to project your cash flow, model debt payoff, track goals and chart net worth. It does not connect to your bank, and it never requests, receives or stores credentials for any financial institution.

Your financial data is fetched from YNAB directly to your device and cached there. We do not store your transaction history on our servers.
The App writes to your plan only when you initiate a change and confirm it on screen — for example funding a goal, moving money between categories, or adding a scheduled transaction. It never writes in the background.
You may disconnect at any time from within the App, and remove DollarAMP in your YNAB account settings to end the authorization at the source.
You represent that you are authorized to connect any YNAB account you link, and your use of YNAB remains subject to YNAB's own terms.

We are not a bank and do not provide banking, money transmission, or payment-initiation services. Projections are estimates based on the data in your plan; we do not guarantee that they will be complete, accurate, or up to date.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services
Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services
Use automated systems to access the Services without permission
Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
Impersonate any person or entity
Collect or harvest user information without consent

Intellectual Property

The Services and all content, features, and functionality are owned by Allen Media Projects and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services without our prior written consent.

User Content

You retain ownership of any data you input into the App, including account balances, transactions, plans, and categories ("User Content"). By using the Services, you grant us a limited license to use, store, and process your User Content solely to provide and improve the Services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free
Defects will be corrected
The Services are free of viruses or harmful components
The results from using the Services will be accurate or reliable

Financial Disclaimer

DollarAMP is a personal finance tool and does not provide financial advice. We are not a bank, credit union, money transmitter, or financial institution, and we do not hold, move, or have custody of your funds. The information presented in the App is for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional financial, investment, or tax advice. Bank-connected data is provided for your convenience and may be delayed or incomplete; you are solely responsible for verifying your own records and for your financial decisions.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALLEN MEDIA PROJECTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

Your use or inability to use the Services
Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or your personal information
Any interruption or cessation of the Services
Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code transmitted through the Services
Any errors or omissions in any content

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Allen Media Projects from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

Third-Party Services

The Services rely on third-party providers, including YNAB (the plan data the App reads, with your authorization), Apple (subscription purchase and billing), RevenueCat (subscription status) and Amazon Web Services (hosting). Your use of these features is also governed by those providers' terms and policies. The Services may also contain links to third-party websites or services, and we are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

Modifications to Services

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.

Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated Terms on the Website. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall take place in Kansas City, Missouri.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Allen Media Projects regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements.
